Stars & Stripes-New England Vol.01

I was so lucky to have my uncle’s beach house in Milford, CT for the 4th, the misses and I toured around the neighborhood enjoying the fresh New England sites. We stopped by our good buddy Adam Meshberg’s house from the Meshberg Group to have a spectacular meal and watch the fireworks on the beach.

Vintage Automobile Culture Vol.01

Something about the art of automobiles has always intrigued me. Researching the vintage automobile culture, I’ve discovered that the beauty of typography is just as beautiful as the cars. Driving them has an entirely different kind of allure.

Hidden Gems by Mayfourteenth

Tomorrow (06.14.10), our good friend and collaborator Benjamin Belsky is launching a pop-up shop for his new S/S10 handmade eyewear line Mayfourteenth, at 252 Fillmore and Haight Street in San Francisco, CA., and will stay open till (07.14.10). We worked together to print the bespoke wall for the shop (stay tuned for photos). Ben also collaborated with world renowned artist Peter Gronquist to adorn the shop with his incredible gilded weaponry. When sitting down with Mr. Belsky in NYC a couple of weeks ago, I was able to view the entire insane collection. When looking closely at the acetates from Italy, I realized they reminded me of the the stalagmites and stones that one would find in a cave. We then came to an agreement that Ben’s process is somewhat like a cave miner, digging for precious stones and brilliant gems. As a visual study, I pulled together some imagery for a side by side comparison, enjoy. Check out the site www.mayfourteenth.com

ICFF was really tight and focused this year. Given that the market is still not back to normal, only the “best of the best” exhibited.

The 22nd Annual International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) at New York’s City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center is a worldwide wonder for design disciples. North America’s singular showcase for contemporary design, the fair draws the most intrepid seekers of design trends to an extraordinary exhibition of the most inspired models of design on the forefront, as well as thought-provoking programs and a schedule of supplementary exhibits and features.
